Your Brand ≠ Your Business:

Your Instagram might be poppin' but is your business even real?

Hey ,

There’s a harsh truth a lot of entrepreneurs learn the hard way:

A beautiful Instagram grid doesn’t mean you have a business.
It means you have an audience.

You can have:

  • A logo, slogan, even a website…

And still not be legally operating as a business.

In fact, I’ve known creators and coaches making $20K/month who were still operating under their personal name, with no legal structure in place.

So what happens when:

  • A client sues you?

  • Your payment processor freezes funds?

  • You want to apply for funding or hire a team?

Compliance Tip of the Week:
Form a legal entity (LLC or Corporation) and separate your business from your personal finances.

It’s the first line of defense. It gives you legitimacy. And it’s the foundation for everything else you want to build.

You can register your business through your state’s Secretary of State website, or use platforms like TailorBrands, Bizee, or LegalZoom to simplify the process. Just make sure whichever route you choose, your business is properly documented and in good standing.

Here’s a checklist to get started:

  • Identify your business address & registered agent

  • Register your business with your Secretary of State

  • Get an EIN from the IRS (free)

When in doubt, consult a licensed attorney to review your website policies.
If you don’t have one, I’m happy to help you get connected, just schedule a quick call.
